The IBM z16 platform introduces an innovative industry leading processor cache architecture that extends the value of prior generations of hardware within a new single chip, single cache design. This presentation will cover the motivations driving the shift from the prior generations tiered inclusive cache design to private-shared clusters of caches, the underlying performance implications, and the implications in interpreting CPUMF data.

In this session we'll discuss the decisions in the process of building an HA /DR environment with container workloads in Red Hat OpenShift. The variations start with the type of storage for the infrastructure components and container workload and is going through all layers of network^ hypervisor and container applications. The landscape can vary from one single hardware machine to multiple machines in multiple Datacenters in different distances.

In this session the speakers will provide you a methodology and resources so that organizations can build either or both their Cybersecurity Framework and/or a Governance Plan that is specific to the z/OS Mainframe inclusive of all three ESMs and they will talk about the value that the creation of these documents will bring to the organization.

With the growth of container technologies and the current focus on OpenShift, it is important to be able to measure the consumption of an OpenShift implementation. In this session, we'll take a look at how to see what is happening.

During this session, attendees will be introduced how to deploy a micro-services application using SUSE Rancher. This will include a technical deep dive with demonstrations which will show how Rancher can simplify Kubernetes management and container deployments on-premise and in the cloud on IBM Z and LinuxONE.

Ansible is gaining popularity for automating provisioning and deployment on the mainframe. In this session we will take a closer look at how to interact with Db2 for z/OS using Ansible: running Db2 utilities, commands, provisioning schemas, deploying schemas, and much more. We will use IBM's Ansible Z collection, but also create our own small samples to cover additional use cases.
