Zowe is used by almost half of all mainframe shops, and is now available in version 2 long term support. This talk focuses on customers who have successfully adopted Zowe. Their scenarios and problems it solved, ranging from DevOps IT CICD modernization to bring z/OS into the rest of their organization and jettison two phase IT, through to simple ad-hoc script automation to make operations more reliable, repeatable and require less specialist skills. Some customers have used the Zowe SDK to create powerful dashboards to replace manual process, or 3270 based applications, with web dashboards or even chat bot clients. Other customers have taken advantage of the mainframe education courses that use Zowe for their curriculum to onboard new to mainframe staff as well as re-educate skills mainframers in languages like python or Java. This talk will cover the customer success stories, focusing on what worked for them and what didn't. This it not a Zowe marketing pitch, it is designed to showcase success (and failures) or where the technology has worked. It will include customer testimonials and sources of material to get more information to take back and start being successful with Zowe and mainframe modernization.
